Today Microsoft has launched a new website that aims to help protect internet users around the world who are using an out of date web browser. Microsoft has found that socially engineered malware presents the biggest online security threat, this information comes form over 600 million systems around the world from over 100 countries. Internet users are most at risk from socially engineered malware when they are using out of date web browsers which Microsoft’s new web site hopes to address.
Microsoft have found that just under 25% internet users access the internet through an out of date web browser. This information, along with several other statistics can be seen in the below infographic (yey, I love infographics).
YourBrowserMatters.org is the new website from Microsoft and provides plenty of information for users who want to improve their online protection. The new site is designed using Microsoft’s Metro UI principles which is very nice to see.
