This week is an important week for the British Imagine Cup entrants as it’s the national finals this Wednesday. I have been invited along to spectate and I have to say I am really looking forward to it. I am looking forward to seeing what great and innovative ideas have come to fruition; I am looking forward to meeting fellow students and MSPs; I am looking forward to the talks we will be given whilst the judges make their decision and I am also looking forward to going to the Microsoft campus, its always good fun.
Some of you may remember that I was actually part of an Imagine Cup team this year however due to various demanding commitments we decided to pull out of the competition. It will therefore be interesting to see what we would have been up against and to be able to compare our idea with the other teams. It’s a great shame that our team had to pull out but its great that I am still able to attend the Imagine Cup UK finals. My advice to anyone thinking of taking part in the Imagine Cup is to do it and do it ASAP, I left it too late and found myself in final year before I knew it and found I had far too much to do to also work on an Imagine Cup project.
I plan to cover the event as best I can taking pictures, interviewing people and blogging away all day long. I am tempted, if allowed, to live blog the competition events and obviously you can be sure I will be tweeting as much as possible. I look forward to sharing details with you about the UK Imagine Cup Finals on Wednesday.
P.S. If anyone not involved with the Imagine Cup is around on the Microsoft UK campus on Wednesday it would be good to meet, albeit briefly.
