Over the past few Microsoft has updated the website’s homepage but I’m not a fan, its far too cluttered and confusing. The page might look to follow the Metro guidelines but Metro is always about being simple and removing all extra content from the design; this is something that the new homepage certainly doesn’t do. In that respect I don’t think the new homepage is very Metro-y at all. It’s why I decided to create an alternative design for the homepage a few weeks back when the new design was first shown off.
However I have since been shown an even better concept image than my own for the Microsoft homepage. This concept was designed by @MichaelJacob02.
Not only is this design simpler than the new homepage but I think it is quite stunning. It would have been great if this was more like how the homepage look. I only wish Microsoft had taken more time with the design of the homepage, it feels very rushed to me.
