I was just reading an article on Cnet when a new IE9 banner ad popped up. I showed how to pin a site in three easy steps. A big number 1 came up, then an outline of IE9 with a website loaded. Step 2 was dragging the site’s favicon to the Windows 7 taskbar. Finally a 3 appeared and it showed how you can go straight to that site from the taskbar.
The banner as then finished as seen below.
I clicked on the ad and found that the site gave a 404 error. I imagine that with this error and the fact that IE9 hasn’t even been launched yet that this ad was launched prematurely. I have refreshed the page repeatedly and I have not seen the ad a second time.
The ad had the same look at the ads for the beta. I think it advertised the pinning feature of IE9 rather well and I would be interested to know what other ads Microsoft have lined up for the launch of IE9.
Have you seen any new IE9 ads on the net today?
