My Metro alternative for Microsoft homepage

The other day I shared with you my ideas for tweaks to the up coming Microsoft homepage, well today I have had more time to work on a Metro UI design for the site. I wanted to bring the Metro UI properly to the Microsoft page and not just a collection of rectangles and the Segoe font which is currently found on the preview design.

You can see the current preview site here.

Hovering over the images shows the name of the product as shown with the Internet Explorer icon. Clicking on “work” would change all the content on the page to focus of business products.

What do you think? Is it better than the proposed design for the Microsoft homepage?

I agree, far more straight forward compared to the MSFT attempt, MS websites have always been a little too fussy in the past.

When I think of “Metro” within a website, this is exactly what I would think of. Great design work!

"I have annother tip. You could have all your documents folder synced to skydrive if you right click the my documents folder and change the location of my documents to a folder within skydrive. That way when you change something in my documents folders it is also updated to skydrive. You can do this to sync between computers if you don't exceed the skydrive limit."

"Whta's about hardlinks (fsutil....) - so you can have yor original useful file structure and those folders, which should be synced, as hardlinks in the skydrive-structure? However, Live Mesh rules and I am also sad, that this good important difference to dropbox & Co - I can select, which folders of my structure should be synced - is now missing. "
