Just thought I would point out to you that Microsoft is the first company, ever, to make playing music and games accessible on the “3 screens” (mobile, computer and TV) and also on the cloud (both directly through a browser and indirectly using the social network element). This small feat happened properly yesterday when Microsoft released a new Xbox Live game, Game Chests: Logic Games. The thing with this game is its more than just a mobile app, it is in fact a game that offers multiplayer across different platforms.
It is now possible to start a logic game, chess for example, on a Windows Phone 7 and have your opponent take their move on a computer through a browser. It now means the same game can be played on either Windows Phone 7 or through a browser. I can see Microsoft allowing gamers on PCs and Xboxs to also have access to this game, or if not this game then something similar.
For the first time its possible to play games on the same gaming network on 3 screens and the cloud. This follows Zune functionality being incorporated into Windows Phone 7 which now makes it possible to access the music social network on 3 screens and the cloud.
Now that the basic 3 screens and the cloud functionality is available for both music and games I look forward to seeing what additional and innovative features Microsoft bring to both these networks (Zune HD owners might also like some of this functionality). I think if the games can link into Facebook Microsoft might be on to a winner and if Zune would allow playlist to be shared on multiple devices and accessed from within the browser they could hugely increase the usability of the social network aspect of Zune.
