In case you weren’t aware Kinect will go on sale tomorrow in the US. Kinect is the completely controller free accessory for the Xbox 360 which allows anyone to use their whole body to control what happening on the screen. Its possible to jump, wave your hands or even talk to your TV to control what the Xbox is doing whether that be watching a HD film, listening to music or, and here’s a novel idea, playing a game.
There appears to be a lot of excitement for this launch in the US with a big event in New York’s Time Square. There have also been reports that many places in the US and around the world are running out of pre-orders for the accessory. Microsoft have also upgraded their predictions for how many Kinects they will sell before Christmas from 3 million to 5 million.
As part of the excitement it appears that quite a few people have had the same idea of adding their Xbox Live avatar to their Twitter and Facebook pictures. I encourage you do the same, I already have.
If you don’t live in the US we thankfully don’t have too long to wait as this time next week we will be able to buy the Xbox accessory in stores around the world.
Have you already pre-ordered a Kinect for your Xbox? I am hoping I get an Xbox and Kinect for Christmas, it might just be wishful thinking though.
