My friends over at Neowin have got a great article with pictures and a video of how Microsoft’s next store will be. This new store will be in the Mall of America and will sit right across from the Apple Store.
I think this is the most interesting Store location yet. I can’t wait to see what Microsoft fill this space with, the store does look massive. Now if only I could find some boarding like this in the UK to get excited about.
"I agree... but the standard interface is not discoverable enough with a keyboard and mouse. This is a design issue that needs a considerable amount of time.
I use Windows 8 and am getting used to it by searching for keyboard shortcuts and such. A less tech-savy person would not take the time to figure it out and become frustrated. The problem is that Windows should be designed for a billion plus users and each should be delighted, not frustrated."
"Agreed. The Charms work very well and are consistent across all apps. But yeah, it's not that intuitive for most casual users. What Microsoft and devs could do is include a search 'button' in the app, clicking on which will open the charm. The official Twitter app for Windows 8 has one and I like that implementation."
