In this article I will keep you updated with the major announces from before, during and after Microsoft “Its time to share” announcement about Project Pink.
- Following a leaked image of what appears to be two new phones from Microsoft on Verizon’s database it has been suggested that the launch names of these devices will be Kin. This does make sense seeing as the devices are being aimed at teens who are likely to want to only contact their kin, rather than colleagues and the like.
- The Turtle and Pure devices are thought to be called Kin One and Kin Two respectively, backed up by Mary Jo Foley.
- Kin.com is owned by Microsoft.
- Neowin are reporting that Kin.com went live (I am now receiving a 403 error, access denied) which revealed the two devices.
- It is thought Kin Studio is the name of the software used to sync the devices with PCs.
- Kin has a Twitter account, @Kin.
- Kin devices will launch in Europe later this year exclusively on Vodaphone.
- From @the_andyman “KIN Spot is in the bottom-middle of screen, drag something to it to share (eg photo) and choose which people or service to send it to”.
- You can check out the pictures and specs of the Kin devices from the official website that went live for a few seconds – http://www.neowin.net/news/pink-phones-show-up-in-verizon039s-system-expected-this-summer
