As you might know I was unable to watch the live stream or read the live blog of today’s keynote and so I am frantically trying to read up on everything I can about what was announced and its not easy task. Here are some of the big announcements and information from today’s keynote.
The News
- Windows Phone 7 Series supports the same Silverlight as on the web, including media experiences and deep zoom; 7 Series will initial use a variation of Silverlight 3 with additional phone features such as accelerometer
- Silverlight 4 RC was announced
- Many demos from 7 Series including push notification, games, marketplace and various partner’s apps
- Microsoft announced an extensive list of initial partners with 7 Series incuding Associated Press, Citrix, EA Mobile, Foursquare, Namco, Pangeonce, Pandora, Seesmic, Shazam, and Sling
- 7 Series dev tools are all free!

Keep your eye on my twitter favourites, its much easier to keep that updated with news and articles than this post. I am now looking forward to tomorrow’s keynote where we can expect to see Internet Explorer 9 demoed; and who knows, maybe there will be a tech preview too.
