Wmpoweruser.com have a new video of 7 Series from TechEd Middle East and it shows a lot of the same things we have seen before like hubs but there were a couple of new things, such as hints towards multi-tasking.
In the video Internet Explorer is shown and the way it opens with a page already loaded suggests that IE will either run as a background or at the very least be suspended when not open. Also a webpage can be promoted to the Start Screen and creates a live tile which again means that part of IE can multi-task to create the live tile.
Another feature shown off in the video is how to customise the Start Screen, this may have been shown before but I don’t I’ve seen this, which is accessed by holding one’s finger on the screen for a second and then dragging the tiles around. All fairly simple things but always nice to see.
As I was writing the above info so wmpoweruser.com posted another video, this one showing a game that can be played on a PC, Xbox or on a 7 Series device and although being a simple demo its a great concept. For the devs out there one thing I thought was impressive was that 90% of the code for all three devices is shared, that doesn’t sound like too much extra work for the benefits of getting it on three platforms.
I wonder if there will be any other videos from TechEd over the new few days, it would be nice.
