I have just watched a video from Ina Fried who interviewed Charlie Kindel asking about what’s different with the Windows Phone 7 Series and why Microsoft have made such changes. On this video Charlie demos some apps written by the Windows Phone dev team to demo hardware but it gives us a glimpse of what apps will look like.
First at about 2:55 we see the Start Screen with some unseen apps with what appears to be a torch, weather and spirit level app, not sure what the bottom left app is.
Next Charlie goes on to demo the level app which loads very quickly and is a very sparse app, however we do get to see the menu bar at the bottom with what I would guess is a calibrate button.
Charlie then demoed the app in a horizontal position which has a quick, smooth transition between positions.
Just before Charlie closes the app the above image appears which looks like it could be a way of measuring the angle the device is positioned in. The app was apparently very trivial for the devs to build.
With about a minute left to go on the video Charlie shows off Xbox Live hub and the above image shows information about a specific game and then he shows how to share a game with a user’s friends through the networks in the image below; messaging (Windows Live Messenger?), Facebook or email.
Its great to see some more shots of the phone and I look forward to seeing and hearing lots more about it in just over a weeks time at MIX.
