Well cnBeta.com sure know where to get leaked images from, they have posted a ridiculous number of pictures in their latest post as you can see below. The images reveal new features of Movie Maker, Photo Gallery, Sync and the availability to watch video online through Windows Live.
First things first they posted a picture of several different applications of the Windows Live suite, now we have seen the mail, writer and Photo Gallery one before but the Movie Maker is new and shows the ability to publish a video to SkyDrive and what looks like a few new transistions.
Next up is the ribbon interface and all the tabs of Photo Gallery, something only yesterday I said I wanted to see, which shows the Create tab is a launching toolbar for other Live applications and quick uploading to various online services such as SkyDrive, Facebook and Flickr. Its good to see the Find and Edit tabs to give us a better idea of what to expect in the new application.
Just a couple more screenshots of Photo Gallery showing various other aspects, surely it wont feel new when we actually get to play with it.
Another couple of screenshots, this time of Movie Maker, probaly the product we have heard and seen the least about for its Wave 4 iteration. We can see here 2 more publishing services including Windows Live Groups and Facebook.
The image I am most excited about, videos in Windows Live services! Finally. Although I have to say I am a bit surprised this isn’t going to be a separate service, I was sure Microsoft would want to compete with Google’s YouTube in having a centralised location for videos; it just appears that the Photo service will now support videos too. Another thing to be taken from this image is that the search bar has moved down from the header to the content region, not sure if this will be an improvement, as far as I can tell is that it wont be as easy to find now.
Here’s a screenshot of Family Safety, something we have seen nothing about and something I think is becoming less and less relevant, from my understanding Windows 7 has very good parental control inbuilt now so little need for much of this.
A few more screenshots of what’s new with Family Safety.
Windows Live Sync, is this to incorporate Live Mesh? Who knows. But what we do see here is a control panel for organising synced folders and devices (I would guess) and program settings, which is new. Will be interesting to see what users can do with this, very little is given away in the image.
And finally we have image of the new Bing bar, I’m not a fan of toolbars and haven’t tried the current Bing Bar out so can’t really pass comment on it other than it still appears to offer quick access to necessary online tasks.
What a great collection of new images, with quite a bit of new information, even if some of it was expected or could have been guessed. I guess we will hear more about Windows Live Wave 4 at MIX but I am hearing that we wont see anything in the way of a release until May, which will disappoint many.
