Reports That All Microsoft Service Sign-Ins Are Down

**All services seem to be back online**

I am seeing lots of people on Twitter saying they can’t sign in to several Microsoft services from Windows Live Hotmail, Xbox and Zune. Lets hope what ever this is will be over quickly, perhaps they are doing updates for new features for Windows Live Wave 4.

Interestingly I am signed in to Messenger and have had no problems.

I will keep you updated as I know more.

Current list of offline service sign-ins

Windows Live Hotmail – Down Now up for me and others
Zune – Down Up
Windows Live Messenger – Up
SkyDrive – Up
Xbox – Reported Down Up

It looks like all services are now back up, if there is any word from Microsoft about the outage I will add links to this post.

The Windows Live Twitter account has just posted this:

The they have provided in the last tweet is the Windows Live Solution Center.

Update 2:

Microsoft have provided an official statement about the outage putting it down to a server failure, read more at the Inside Windows Live blog.

And I stand corrected. Looks like the login redirect is down, but not the actual services: If I’m already logged in, I can go through home.live.com and get everywhere, however I cannot go directly to the site

"I have annother tip. You could have all your documents folder synced to skydrive if you right click the my documents folder and change the location of my documents to a folder within skydrive. That way when you change something in my documents folders it is also updated to skydrive. You can do this to sync between computers if you don't exceed the skydrive limit."
