@Vasudevg has just pointed out a post from the ubuntu.com that informs testers about 2 changes coming to Ubuntu in Lucid, the next version of Ubuntu to be released. The second one and most interesting for us Microsoft followers is that the default search engine in Ubuntu will be set to Yahoo!. As we all know Yahoo! and Microsoft will be working together to provide search with all of Yahoo!’s search being powered by Microsoft’s Bing.
So it looks like Bing wont be the default brand of search like it might be on the Iphone and all HP computers but could well be powering the default search engine of the most commonly used version of Linux.
