Windows Live Wave 4: New Mail Pictures
LiveSino have done it again, another picture of the upcoming release for the Windows Live suite this time being the Mail application.
The ribbon can be seen in all its glory and now access to the calendar can be found right on the main screen, definitely an improvement to me. Another obvious difference in the picture is that emails can now be shown in a “conversation view” so replies can be read much more easily. What with news yesterday of support for various Gmail features it seems that Windows Live Mail will be a good improvement over Wave 3.
There is very little else given away in the above image although there is a feedback tab and the name of the app includes “beta” so perhaps we could see a beta release of the suite soon.
Hotmail and Windows Live Mail can be configured to look very similar so I wonder if in the Wave 4 version of the online counterpart it will be possible for users to have their calendar show up right on the inbox view rather having to go to the separate service page.
Good to see there is slowly more information coming out about the new version of Windows Live, it just can’t come quickly enough for me, and I look forward to what else can be discovered by the large number of Windows Live fans and blogs out there.

I like the idea of being able to see my calendar from my Hotmail inbox. I’m definitely hoping that they give us that!

It’s all looking good! As one of Windows Live Mails biggest fans I am loving everything the team is doing so far! Its the reason why I never bother accessing my Hotmail Account online. Also loving the fact that you can blog with Writer straight from an email! Brilliant! More and more integration between all the apps! Can’t wait to get my mitts on all of it.
Windows Live Mail Wave4, it’s all looking good! « Technogran's tittle tattle (Jan 19, 2010)
[...] The Windows Live Mail team have always been open to new ideas and dare I say it, innovative in their outlook. Their application of Active Search was pure genius and way before its time, but sadly that feature was dropped in the finalised product. All of the Windows Live Essentials suite will now take a far more prominent place as they are so integral to Windows 7, and I for one look forward to their ever increasing new features and usability including their continued integration with each other. My friend Gilly has also done a brilliant post about this new Wave 4 news concerning Windows Live Mail.. You can read it HERE. [...]

I would like to see my online contacts and to be able to chat right from the new WLM!
Technogran (Jan 21, 2010)
Simon you can do that now in the current Windows Live Mail but you have to enable and choose that button. In order to do so, Go to View then down to the bottom of the drop down list to Customise Toolbar, and then choose the blog button from the list on the left hand side, then click on the arrow to include it in the right hand side list. It will then be available to you in the WLM Toolbar
Can’t find View? Then you don’t have the Menu showing so click on the icon between the paintbrush icon and the Question mark icon on the right of the toolbar then from the drop down choose ‘show menu’ from the list
