Bing has its own shortening URL, binged.it

In a tweet I have just seen from Bing’s @fareologist I noticed that they used a new URL shortening service by the name of binged.it. I think this is a new URL Bing are using, I certainly haven’t noticed this before. Binged.it is clearly a great address for Bing to have; I see that with the Bing and Ping service they use the bit.ly service so maybe we can expect Bing to change to this new one soon.

Nice to see its not only Google and Facebook buying and using shorter URL for their services, wonder what other URLs Microsoft have planned for shortening services, I wouldn’t be surprised to a WinLi.ve service launched with the release of Windows Live Wave 4.

Update: First use of of the binged.it URL appears to be on January 7th so it does look to only be a week old.

That would be a good move by Microsoft. I hope they’ll make it available to the public. I’ve been suggesting a URL-shortening service for a long while. I’ve submitted feature requests:
