Well personally I think Microsoft’s keynote was a bit lame with nothing major announced but there were a few interesting things.
International Announcements
- Project Natal is coming this year and will be in shops for the Holidays.
- Games Room for Xbox Live and Games for Windows Live to bring old arcade games to the masses.
- New partner built slate devices (nothing like the Courier though). HP Slate. MSI Dual Screen.
- HP and Microsoft partnering up so Bing and MSN are default on HP machines.
- Mediaroom 2.0 Announced, services look to be accessible on Xboxes, Windows 7 PCs and Windows Mobile. Info.
US Announcements
- HTC HD2 to be supplied by T-Mobile.
- Xbox 360 will support AT&T’s U-Verse TV, through new Mediaroom.
There have also been a few other things unannounced by Microsoft as noticed by @tromboneforhire
The fact sheet can be found here and also says that the Facebook app for the Zune HD will be out in January. I am sure owners of the Zune HD will be happy to hear this.
So looking ahead it seem that Microsoft will only talk about Windows Mobile 7 at the Mobile World Conference (15th-18th February) and will talk about Windows Live Wave 4 at Mix 2010 (15th-17th March). I was hoping for a beta of Wave 4 before then but it is looking less likely by the day.
Its a shame that so many people were disappointed with the CES Keynotes, lets hope the other conferences will more than make up for the absence of announcements.
