Another week and another set of screenshots from the unreleased update to the Windows Live suite of applications, this time courtesy of GeekSmack. The images include shots from the updated Windows Live Writer, Mail and Photo Gallery showing the Ribbon UI.

One interesting point to note is that Windows Live Photo Gallery will have a whole tab of the ribbon for sharing photos and that to me suggests an awful lot of services available to upload to; hopefully with a very easy and simple interface to do so.

As always I am looking forward to the new update to Windows Live to use the new interface and features and also to see who many of my predictions will be true.

As always, I love your site Michael, just wish I was clever enough to make mine look like this, its so attractive. I have asked for the ribbon interface to be applied across ALL of the live esssentials suite as you know, so looks like I am to get my wish. Also not that Photo Gallery is AT LAST going to incorporate Geotagging which we asked for ages ago. Its all looking good, and I can’t wait to get my hands on it all!

It looks like WLW4 will be excellent, already seeing some much needed improvements. I just hope we have some great new services to match the screenshots of the clients software.

"I have annother tip. You could have all your documents folder synced to skydrive if you right click the my documents folder and change the location of my documents to a folder within skydrive. That way when you change something in my documents folders it is also updated to skydrive. You can do this to sync between computers if you don't exceed the skydrive limit."

"Whta's about hardlinks (fsutil....) - so you can have yor original useful file structure and those folders, which should be synced, as hardlinks in the skydrive-structure? However, Live Mesh rules and I am also sad, that this good important difference to dropbox & Co - I can select, which folders of my structure should be synced - is now missing. "
