What’s The Best Way To Compete With Google?
Well if you are Microsoft there are many ways but focusing on search you could innovate and release a new search engine called Bing. You could then continue to add and update features more regularly than Google. After that you partner up with major Social Networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. Perhaps by getting one of the world’s most powerful media moguls to criticise Google and then try and make a deal with the mogul. Why not try implementing other technologies from Microsoft such as Silverlight and Photosynth.
Or maybe easier than all of them just get a Firefox executive to encourage users to use Bing instead of Google. Of course it has yet to be seen if such statements can lead to a greater market share for Bing and where the market share will come from; coming from Yahoo is not so good for Microsoft. I wasn’t intending to write a post about the Firefox Exec but then I thought about how well Bing has been doing at getting its name known and ended up with the above list.
It has been a great 6 months for Bing and Microsoft’s search endeavours, lets hope the next 6 months are just as interesting for Bing, especially with a Bing for Mobile SDK being released “soon”.
