I had the same thing: following the link to WMC shows Sky, but running WMC normally doesn’t. I ended up re-running the set-up (Tasks|Settings|General|Windows Media Center Setup|Run Setup Again) and choosing Custom and making sure the app can download stuff from the Internet. But it may be that all you need do is Tasks|Settings|General|Automatic Download Options and make sure the “Retrieve CD album art, … and Internet Services from the internet” is ticked and hit Download Now.

I now have lots of extra tiles, including the MSN Video Player.

I had exactly the same problem as you but it has now started working for some reason!

Here is what I did:

Re-install silverlight
Do the reg edit and even if it already says GB change it to GB anyway.
You will also see an entry regarding your postcode, change this the nearsest main postal cade ie if you are TW18 1AB just change it to TW1
Then restart WMC and do the autodownload.
Seemed to do the job for me, it maybe that the system gets confused with our postcodes but let me know if this works for you as i have been on so many forums looking for a solution and nobody (there are thousands like us) can get it working. if it gets you going we may have found the answer.

THE PLOT THINS…

Just to add a little murk to the already muddied topic, I have 2 PCs with Windows 7 installed: One with Home Premium and one with Professional. On the Home Premium PC I have MSN Player and Sky Player in Media Center, but on the Professional PC I have nothing, despite having verified with Regedit that I have the correct GB entry.

Hi,
I setup sysCountryCode to GB, also chnaged my system local to GB. But Skypleayer is not available in WMC. But if I launch WMC thru “Launch WML Now!”, http://www.microsoft.com/uk/windows/windows-media-center/learn-more/internet-tv/default.aspx .. It works fine WMC Open and I can see Sky TV.

But Still it is not available thru WMC menu item.

That is exactly what happened to me.
I have tried to re-install it, but still no icon appears.
I have looked everywhere and tried everything but nothing seems to work.

I have tried the above solution, but when downloading it a caption appears saying download error go to windows media log. Can somebody help me? I un-installed it do you think thats why its not working? how do you reinstall it?

Great worked a treat, I downloaded the xDark windows, really great build with loads of handy programmes but it is set up for the USA, really bugged me the Sky tab wasn’t there, but this sorted it out, Cheers!

I’m using firefox as my web browser & i need to reinstall windows, what will happen to my browsing history in firefox & will i be able to access my bookmarked websites?

That sounds to me like you would need to reinstall Windows on your PC
