Seeing as there is less than a week until Microsoft’s Season of Love kicks off with the launch of the Zune HD I thought I should mention, for those of you who have been living under a rock and in the dark for the past couple of months, what Microsoft is releasing over the next couple of months.
First off we have the Zune HD, on Monday 15th September, Microsoft’s MP3 player with a touch screen, HD radio, HD output to TVs, Applications and full internet access. This really is aimed at the Apple iPod Touch. We can also expect to have the newest version of Zune PC software to be released and ready for download on the same day.
Then 3 weeks following that we have the latest version of Windows Mobile launching globally, on Tuesday 6th October, with a few phone manufactures already announcing they will have phones running Windows Mobile 6.5 on that day. I would also expect to hear that there will be several companies teaming up with Microsoft to release new applications for the Windows Mobile platform.
After only 2 short weeks we will then have the biggest launch of the year with Windows 7 going on sale everywhere on Thursday 22nd October, there will probably even be parties to celebrate this launch near you. I don’t think I need to say much else for this really apart from that I expect Windows Live to either be released or have a beta release at about the same time.
I will keep you updated on these launches and more information in blog posts, as always. If you want more interesting way to keep up to date than read my posts then make sure you check out the calendar as I will add new events as I hear about them to that page and check to see if there are any public launch parties near you.
P.S. The title of this is very much tongue-in-cheek.
UPDATE: It sounds like Microsoft will also be adding Bing to their line of updates/releases if what people have been tweeting if to be believed, it could be as soon as the week begining Septmber 14th.
