MyMeshPhone
The Inquirer has posted a video interview they had about Windows Phones and in it they talk about Microsoft MyPhone where there is mention of Live Mesh powering MyPhone . The interviewer asks if this is part of the “Mesh setup” and the reply is “It will be part of Mesh but slightly different from Mesh at the moment.”
Want I really wanted to see was MyPhone becoming part of Windows Live
as it makes sense to have peoples’ contacts, emails, meeting etc all in one place rather than on several services offered by Microsoft. Perhaps this means Windows Live will use Mesh for syncing information across all the platforms and for storage; another thing I have wanted to see happen to reduce the number of competing services.
This fits in with my prediction that we will be seeing Live Mesh being properly released in time for Windows 7, if MyPhone is also due to be released when Windows Mobile 6.5 is released around October/November.
Lets hope a universal system for syncing and storage is coming from Microsoft because more information has been shared about Mesh, Windows Live and MyPhone than was intended.
They talk about Mesh just after 5 minutes in this video.
