Today Microsoft held their Press Conference at E3 where they announced the following:
Integration of services:
- Facebook, basically a facebook app like those on Windows Mobile and the iPhone for the XBox but for your TV
- Twitter, an easy way to tweet and read others tweets when using your XBox
- Last.FM, listen to the many radio stations from Last.FM
- Zune Video Store to replace Videos tab
- Further integration of Netflix allowing instant viewing of films in HD
New Technologies:
- Project Natal was finally announced showing how you can control the XBox with no controllers by using you whole body and voice, something that might be worrying to Nintendo. This was demonstrated in several ways showing how games could work, painting and human interaction with a scarily realistic digital character
Other News:
- Out of the 10 game premieres 6 of them were exclusive to the XBox including a rumoured Halo title, Halo Reach
- Metal Gear Solid will no longer be only for Sony as a new game in the series will be coming out for the XBox
What I would have liked to see:
- Further integration between Zunes, mainly the Zune HD, and the XBox. Maybe having the Zune HD as the XBox Portable, however I guess Microsoft needs stuff to announce over the summer ;)
